Frequently Asked Questions

We offer immersive expeditions focused on finding Herpetofauna around the world. Exploring remote rainforests and deserts and reconnecting to the natural world.

Herpetofauna falls under the umbrella of Herpetology which is the study of reptiles and amphibians. Our expeditions focus on animal groups that are often over looked.

From seasoned herpers to people looking to overcome their fears, our expeditions are for everyone young and old, experienced and new to the game.

Our tours are for all ages between 15 to 70 years old. Physically able to walk, you’re welcome to join.

Safety is of the utmost priority. We will have safety briefings at the beginning of the trip. Hospitals in the area will be notified. And we always use snake handling equipment to avoid any chance of an accident.

Our expeditions are lead by two qualified guides. MatVanGeo which has global Herping experience and thousands of hours in the field, and supported by a local guide that knows the country and its wildlife intimately.

Our expeditions are all inclusive, except for international flights. Guides, park entrance fees, all meals and transportation included. Once in country there are no additional costs. Apart from souvenirs and optional extras.

We cater for everyone’s dietary requirements. Just let us know in advance and we will make sure you are catered for.

To bring on our expeditions:
Hiking gear: boots, long pants, long sleeved shirts.
Herping equipment, snake hook and tongs. Hexarmor gloves if you have.
Camera gear.

You can book a tour directly on the website or get in touch via email.
We request a 50% deposit to secure your spot on upcoming trips. Cancelation is possible up to a month before the expedition commences.

All country dependent. Please get in touch once you have booked a spot on expedition to find out what vaccinations are required or not.

Typical group sizes are 8 people, no more than 10 depending on the country. By keeping the group size smaller, there is less impact on the environment and animals we encounter and photograph.
Private tours are available, please get in touch to find out more about private tours.

Our ethos is “stand for, what we stand on”. We want our impact to be as minimal as possible on the environment and the animals we encounter. 5% of your expedition fee will go directly back into supporting a local NGO helping preserve wildlife.

You come up with the idea and we will make it come to life. In search of specific species or interested in a particular habitat type, we can tailor a trip to suit your targets and preferences.

Our expeditions contribute to conservation by allocating 5% of each guests fee to an NGO in country, directly contributing to protection of wildlife. We support local communities by using local guides that know the ecosystems intimately, aswell as supporting local businesses surrounding the areas we explore, and striving for eco-tourism where possible.
